Paysafecard – prepaid online payment method for your sports betting

General, Reviews 0 12

Paysafecard is a prepaid solution for purchasing online launched in 2000. It allows customers to pay online quickly, and safely, without providing any personal information. Paysafecard can be used by everybody and does not require having bank accounts or credit cards.

Paysafecard products

Currently, paysafecard offers users a suite of related products:

  • Paysafecard: prepaid vouchers to pay online purchases
  • My paysafecard: web application to combine vouchers and pay online purchases
  • Paysafecard app: a mobile application

Paysafecard – How it works

Each paysafecard is a voucher, with a printed 16-digit PIN, that can be bought at sales outlets – and online – and can be used to purchase on webshops. Vouchers can be a plastic card, a printed card or an electronic document.

  • Customers purchase paysafecard vouchers at a sales outlet (or online). You can find the nearest outlet with the sales outlet finder. Vouchers are available for the following amounts: £10, £25, £50, £75 or £100 (this changes from country to country).

  • Customers pay online using the printed 16-digit PIN. The amount paid is deducted from the balance of that paysafecard. Webshops allow you to enter up to 10 PINs (up to £1000). You can check the balance of each voucher here, just entering the 16 digit code.

Paysafecard is available worldwide at over 450,000 sales outlets in 39 countries. Over 4,000 webshops accept paysafecard, including some of the most important bookmakers (see a list at the end of this article).

My paysafecard – How it works

Although paysafecard vouchers are available at 5 fixed amounts, they can be combined using the web application my paysafecard. The my paysafecard payment account allows users to manage their purchased paysafecard PINs in a well organised account. After buying a paysafecard, you can top up your my paysafecard account with this PIN. The value of each paysafecard PIN you added is now at your disposal.

When using my paysafecard you only have to enter your my paysafecard username and password when paying in webshops, and you no longer have to enter the 16-digit PIN. Payments are made using the balance of your oldest purchased PINs.

My paysafecard also provides users with a clear overview of their current balance and past transactions. Registering for my paysafecard is free, and no bank details or credit card information are required.

Paysafecard app – How it works

The paysafecard app is available for ios and android devices. It can be used to find sales outlets, login to my paysafecard, check balances and receive promotions, competitions and updates.

Skrill acquisition

Paysafecard was acquired in early 2013 by Skrill. Skrill and paysafecard’s offering combine a secure prepaid product that complements Skrill’s existing payments service. The joining together of Skrill and paysafecard also opens up the business to new markets within underbanked populations.

After Skrill acquired Paysafecard, this payment method can be used to top up the balance of your Skrill Digital Wallet. This is an excellent method to increase your balance without dealing with credit cards or bank transfers.

  1. Purchase a paysafecard.

  2. Top up your my paysafecard account with your purchased paysafecard PINs.

  3. Top up the balance of your Skrill Digital Wallet with my paysafecard.

Topping up Skrill

The my paysafecard Standard status lets you top up Skrill Digital Wallet by a maximum of £250. A higher top-up limit requires an upgrade to the my paysafecard Unlimited status. This allows you – depending on your Skrill Digital Wallet status – to make top-ups of up to £850 a day and up to £2500 within a 30-day period. You can only top up Skrill Digital Wallet with one my paysafecard account. Plus, both your Skrill Digital Wallet account and your my paysafecard account must be registered in the same country.

Fees

Using and paying with paysafecard is free, except in the following situations:

  • Refund fee: A refund incurs a fee of £6. This is deducted from the amount paid out. This fee applies to each pay-out.

  • Inactivity fee: paysafecard charges an inactivity fee of £ 2 a month if the customer does not use his my paysafecard account to complete a payment transaction within a period of 12 months. This fee is charged at the beginning of each month from the first month after this 12-month period passes and is deducted from the customer’s my paysafecard account.

  • Transaction fee: The transaction fee is a customer fee which can be charged by individual pre-defined retailers.

  • Conversion fee: Transactions involving a conversion into a foreign currency are charged a 2% fee of the transaction amount by paysafecard.

Topping up your Skrill Digital Wallet with paysafecard incurs a fee of 5.5% of the top-up amount.
