New german gambling legislation. 188Bet.com closes market
Top asian bookmaker 188Bet stop accepting German players, due to the law change in Germany. As a result of recent legislation passed in Germany, online gambling operators such as 18Bet, are now required to obtain a German Gambling Licence. Therefore 188Bet has announced that they are no longer accepting players from Germany as of July 4th, 2012 due to the lack of mentioned license.
Unibet acquires Bet24
Unibet announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Bet24’s operations. Unibet is one of the largest gambling operators in the European market. It has over 6 million customers in over 100 countries, and provides services in over 27 languages.
Betsson acquires Nordicbet, Triobet & Tobet
Betsson AB (publ) today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire substantial parts of the business of Nordic Gaming Group plc, which is the owner of the NordicBet, TrioBet and Tobet gaming operations. Once the transaction is approved by competent regulatory bodies, the acquisition will be finalized in the end of second quarter 2012.
