Skrill Group acquires Ukash, thus extending value of their paysafecard product
27 November 2014 in London the aquisition was announced and the agreement has been signed. Merging of aforementioned products should further strenghten Skrill business and open new options for improved Paysafecard (already belonging to the Skrill group).
On the note – Paysafecard operates since 2000 and is available as a payment solution in more than 450,000 distribution outlets across 39 countries. Together with Ukash these online pre-payment solutions should enable the brand to increase their share on the general digital-payment market.
This is what has been said by David Sear – the future CEO of Skrill group, after the contract has been signed: “The acquisition of Ukash will significantly extend our reach in the high-growth prepayment market. We are proud to support both consumers and online businesses with the world’s largest online cash replacement payment method and look forward to serving a combined base of millions of consumers around the world”.
The completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. The financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
